“Bohemia Roofing company did a spectacular job in replacing a roof that I previously had installed in April, 2006, with a company that did a very poor job in attempting to create a safe structure that above all else would not leak. So, of course, it leaked very badly and caused much interior damage.

In their thorough fashion and meticulous attention to detail, Bohemia discovered the poor craftsmanship of the previous roofing company and that it had simply placed a new roof directly on top of an old one that had wet, rotten wood at the base. Terrible, and unethical! In great contrast., Bohemia was honest, ethical, with a great moral compass, easily a refreshing standard for the entire industry! We could not have been more pleased with the job Bohemia did.

Bohemia wasted no time in resolving our roofing problem in a very professional manner and with superb strategy. First, they selected a 4-day period when weather was permitting and had the least probability of raining, so that the re-roofing could be done without delays. Second, there was a team of 12 (twelve) workers working together in unison like a smoothly oiled machine, coming at 7:30 am each morning and working until dark (about 8:30 pm). Third, throughout the period of time the roofing was being done, there was little disruption to our daily routine, and the workers kept the work area neat and clean. It was truly amazing to see how well this team of roofers worked so well together to completely re-roof a 3200 square foot home within three and a half days! Very impressive to me was that the owner of the company himself was here each day, working with his team, paying attention to details, making sure that the roof would end up being just like one he would place on his own home.

This was truly a turn key operation, and Bohemia had the entire project under control from the very beginning. Especially helpful was that the roofing company dealt with the insurance company entirely, from the moment of filing a claim for us to contacting them during the project for new findings that had to be addressed. What a relief!

We were provided with a 3-ring notebook that had all the information and paperwork specific for our job, neatly organized into different sections that were easy to access and use for reference in the future and for our long term warranty. Even this detail was much more than what most companies provide their clients, and it was clear to me that this amenity was a great reflection of a company that has been busy in the industry for 17 (seventeen) years.

My insurance company approved a new roof after Hurricane Irma. Since I live on the marshes with nothing in front of me to break up the winds I wanted top quality, heavy, 130 mile-an-hour rated shingles. Of the big three asphalt shingle manufacturers GAF seems to have the best coverage in North Eastern Florida. So I wanted GAF roofing tiles installed by a GAF certified roofer. When I talked to GAF they recommended a “Master Elite” level installer because they are the only installers that can offer GAF’s “Golden Pledge” warranty.

So I called Bohemia Roofing and Pavel came out to look at my roof. I had already talked to 6 or 7 other roofers by that time (slowly learning a bit from each one) but Bohemia’s presentation blew the others away. I got a personalized presentation with a notebook that included all GAF’s roofing choices, all their options, all their warranty packages, and glowing recommendations from dozens of past clients. (Bohemia doesn’t seem to know that you can put these on line. For some reason most small businesses don’t have a clue about computer searches.) GAF’s top of the line complete installation system Golden Pledge package that I chose was priced right in the middle of the other estimates. The GAF package includes a 40-point inspection by a manufacturer’s rep before sign-off. Apparently 90% of roof warranty problems are caused by improper installation so the inspection actually saves GAF money. Bohemia kept in touch by email as the time to do our roof approached. A week ahead Pavel called me to set up a tentative day to start our roof. 3 days ahead he called to verify the day and time.

On the day they were to come a crew of 10 showed up at 8:30 as Bohemia had warned the night before. They spread tarps around the house and moved anything that might be damaged out of the way. A wheeled dumpster was brought in (no big scratches on the concrete drive) and the entire roof was removed by noon. After lunch the materials were delivered for the new roof. First any bad or damaged underlayment was replaced then a special waterproof membrane was put down covering the entire wood substrate. Special “peel and stick” valley reenforcements were applied followed by metal flashing and all edges were flashed and a band of adhesive put down to keep hurricane (130 mph) winds from lifting the roof tile at the eves. GAF has a complete system that, if put down by a certified installer like Bohemia, they guarantee is engineered to withstand Hurricane Force 3 winds. I had extra venting installed as well to keep my attic area a bit cooler and, combined with a light colored roofing tile, cut down my air conditioning costs.

Bohemia has such a large crew of experienced (minimum of 10 years installing) roofers that they had the entire roof, which has a fairly steep pitch, finished by the end of the day. About an hour to clean up, fold all the tarps, use roller magnets for any lost nails, blow of the dust and remove the dumpster and it was done. One day for a 2000 square foot (33 squares of roofing tile) job and they left me with a very attractive archetectural “shadow tile” roof. Nicely done and we are quite satisfied. Thank you Bohemia Roofing. I couldn’t be more happy.
